What are you feelings towards adults judging the YA genre and the limitations of YA for audiences?

Well I'm 19. I'm not sure if I'm an adult yet but I don't read many adult books at all maybe about 10 ever...I think that when some adults judge YA books they can be a bit close minded when it comes to the plots and themes. Most YA books are about finding yourself, standing up for yourself, etc. All things you have to deal with when your a teen (and a little older). Although I think it's a HUGE bonus to write a book that all ages can enjoy the book in the YA are written with young adults in mind and most adults are looking for a bit more in books.
