A letter from years ago, when Sadie's parents were still alive:

Zane -
Everything is going well. Sadie may be catching on, but I've given her every reason not to. I think she's dropped it for now. She wouldn't understand, even if she figured it out. Little Adryan doesn't suspect a thing. Not that he should, given his age. Sadie has begun to be a bit of a problem, though. I have to beat her at least twice a day to remind her of her place, but she never learns. She thinks that she has independance here. How wrong she is.
The papers should be in soon, and once we come up with the code, our task will be well on its way. The house had some touching up on the other day, and new defense systems have been put into place. Even if they find us, they won't be able to get to us. Brant has been training both kids. If we do it well enough, they might be able to continue our legacy. We need the chips though. Send them as soon as possible.
