I make a point of reading a book about 9/11 every September. Of all those that I have read, this one was the hardest to get through. A book that should have taken only a few days, took me nearly 2 1/2 weeks to finish.
The book follows the entire day. The structure of the book is set up as a type of diary, with entries from the people who lived it. The impact of the voices of those who were there struck me and knocked me back into that day, each time I picked it up.
Why 4 stars, not 5? This is book is not for everyone. It is descriptive and horrifying. I cannot imagine listening to the audio version, which I understand is voiced by the 45 different people, those that lived it.
