I have a couple Stand Alone Fantasy books to add to the pole for November, but I'm struggling to find 5. Most tend to be part of a series, and I'd like to avoid that for as long as possible.

So far I have the following books to add to the poll:

The Formerly Dark Mage
Seducing Hope
and Constellation, that I can't get to pull up for some reason right now.

Any other suggestions? I'd like to have 5 on the poll.

Mark - thanks on the heads up for the double post. Not sure how I managed that, but thank you!

Marc *Dark Reader with a Thousand Young! Iä!* (marcthedarc) It's so hard to find standalone fantasy these days. I clicked through some SPFBO finalists and found this one:

Never Die

Marc *Dark Reader with a Thousand Young! Iä!* (marcthedarc) Here are a couple more that appear to be standalones, at least so far:

The War of Undoing
Chaos Trims My Beard
Pilgrimage to Skara

I think standalone fantasy is rare largely due simply to genre and consumer expectations, and indy authors looking to build up a readership and potential income stream would do well to craft a series, both to meet general fantasy expectations and because some percentage of readers will continue buying a series if they liked the first book.

That's what I'm finding too, and it makes sense. Thank you for sending me those. I'll get them added to our bookshelf and next month's poll.
