I didn't think it was TSTL because she didn't expect the killer to follow her. Kim was concerned that the dentures weren't found at the burial site. Kim and Stacy hit on the real murderer at the same time but it was too late. I liked that twist in the story.
Kim’s history definitely made her more empathetic to the victims, which probably is what drove her to buck the authorities and proceed with the dig. She knew what they didn’t know and that they were the last chance at justice for those missing girls. I was impressed at how she found the balance to not project her circumstances onto any of the girls. It kept her focused, if not exceptionally driven.
