In the classic structure of the hero's journey, the starting point of the story is established by creating a story world (the status quo) which is where the journey will begin. What is Boady Sanden like at the beginning of the novel? How does he see his world?

Kate | 3 comments I would compare Boady to so many of us who have grown up in small towns, isolated from the wider world. I grew up with little exposure to diversity, too. He sees the world based on the limits of his experiences so far. He thinks he has a plan for the future, but there's a whole lot more he needs to learn.
