Alternate history has been closely aligned with time travel, because the traveler to the past could create an alternate history by changing an event.

I thought it was well done, but I just didn't find it of interest. I'll not tune in for another episode.

I haven't read the book, but my husband has. I really enjoyed the pilot and am realy hopful that it gets picked up.

Excellent point, Kathryn! I'll use that the next time I give a lecture about the value of original Amazon streamed television vs. networks and cable.

Its all the recaps that are awful. I have to activly make myself not read them as I wait to see the show myself.

Never a good idea to read recaps before seeing the show.

I really liked this book. We have watched the first 5 episodes so far. It is well done and even though it isn't the same as the book (which usually drives me crazy) I am enjoying the show and seeing what they do and how it ends.

I have seen the first 5 episodes, and it's great. After seeing the pilot I went and read the book, which was interesting, but the TV series is much better and they have adapted the ideas to a storyline that fits better with today's audiences.

I also was one of the judges in the Festival's short film category - some real gems there.

I've seen the first couple of episodes and started reading the book. I'll probably finish the book and then watch the rest. I like the concept and it's interesting to compare the 2 versions.

I did finish the show. I really liked it. Usually if I really like a book then I hate the film or TV version. The show didn't have that same WTF moment that I had with the book but it was still enjoyable and made a good show to watch. I want a second season!

Just started season 2 of this. I'm finding the programme excellent. The John Smith character is the one that interests me most. Recommend.

He is my favorite character.

Me too. And his character gets even more compelling as the second season proceeds.

Has anyone kept ? It is the last season. I have enjoyed this series. It had been dark, and terrifying. So well done.

I haven’t started the final season yet. It needs to be watched slowly and savored. I’m not ready for it to be over.

I finished. It was overall a really well done series. I was drawn into the terrible world. I got so much from the characters. It was so well acted.

I have watched the first four episodes of the final season.

How are you feeling?

I am worried for Smith. I’ve grown to like him. I am worried about his daughter. She doesn’t understand she has to play the game like her mother does.

Juliana annoys me, like she has since the beginning.

I’m sad they killed off Tagomi. I liked him.

I like Smith as well. I wish Tagomi hadn't been killed either. I think it was odd, adding the son to what's his name story. Was he in the previous season?

I don’t recall his son being in the prior episodes. I am unclear why he is part of the story at this point.

That would be my one complaint. He was put there to make the Kempeti (sp?) more...normal...??

I think the only purpose of the son was so that Inspector Kido wouldn't be at the auction and would discover the caterers plan.

I didn’t get the ending....

It was almost too ambiguous. I need to think on this. The rest of it was amazing. No holding back.

I just watched the last episode yesterday. It was amazing! I loved this show. I have a 12 year old son who is a history buff who loved the premise of the show when I discussed it with him but I wouldn't want him to see the violence. I hope it is still available when he is old enough.

Now that I am done with the series, I may have to get my husband to watch it as well so I can watch it again. I'm sure there is a ton I missed. I also want to see if I can understand the ending better by watching it again.

I have the book as well but haven't read it yet. I think I may need to read it in 2020.

Read the book! It is a good book but there are a lot of differences from the show. They did keep to the essence of the book, I think.
