Ayla (storiesandfolklore) Kieran's boat sped through the ocean, cutting over the waves.
Sadie, as before, was left in darkness as she fingered her pounding head. This time, there was no escaping. Unless...
One of Kieran's agents were stationed outside. If Sadie could get out of her bonds, then just maybe she could pull this off. She wriggled for a moment, then bit the ropes, hard. They came undone as they fell to the floor.
Sadie staggered as she stood up, holding on to a small pole that was left lying on the ground. She silently crept to the door, opening it quietly and bashing the guard on the head. She slipped down the hall, making it all the way out to the deck.
Fresh air. Finally. She leaned against the railing, only snapping out of it when she heard the yells of guards. Sadie looked down at the ocean below, at least thirty feet down. In the darkness, she spotted a small yellow inflatable boat.
It was her only hope. Meager, but hope all the same. She looked over her shoulder at the guards oncoming. Faster.
Faster.
Louder.
Louder.
When they were right behind her, she took a deep breath, and jumped.

Ayla (storiesandfolklore) Sadie, after having drifted the night on her small boat, woke up not feeling any better. She took the metal pole in her hands and started rowing, although it didn't do much good. She needed water, and she needed it bad. She also needed food.
She continued rowing, and five hours later, she came to a small island. It wasn't much, but it looked like heaven. She quickly steered the boat into a small inlet, staggering off and lying in the sand for a minute.
