Have a lovely readathon!

Angie wrote: "Hey Susy, great to see that you have a thread here now, too! (I'll definitely be doing some snooping around later ;-) )
Have a lovely readathon!"

Thank you!
I'm still debating wether my focus this round will be on the reading or on the social aspect of the readathon… I know there are people who can read posts and post themselves while listening to audiobooks, but I really can't lol
I will definitely do a wrap up post of course and I'll be visiting all of your threads tomorrow after the readathon, but I'm not sure if I'll be very active here during the readathon itself. Still have 2.5 hours to make up my mind lol
I will probably also be posting on Instagram (they changed something and I can't seem to find the place where I can limit their cookies? anybody have an idea?) and Twitter

Opening Survey!
1) What fine part of the world are you reading from today?
The Netherlands
2) Which book in your stack are you most looking forward to?
The Cemetery Boys
3) Which snack are you most looking forward to?
Chocolate and pizza
4) Tell us a little something about yourself!
I was born and raised in the netherlands but my blood is portuguese. I love to read, traveling, cats, series and movies.
5) If you participated in the last read-a-thon, what’s one thing you’ll do different today? If this is your first read-a-thon, what are you most looking forward to?
Hmmm, not sure yet. I always struggle to balance my time reading and time on social media...

Liking it so far!
Thank you Ann!

Nice!
I only had mine today, at the end of the readathon! I hardly snacked this time… I have sooooo much left lol

But then I did my stats, compared them to previous readathons and I didn't do bad at all. I did skip a lot of the social stuff, because hey, I also want to read some. So sometimes I posted a photo, sometimes I liked or reacted to a post on Twitter/IG, but I also read.
Now that the readathon is over, I'm going to visit some of the threads here on GR and see how you all did. After that I'm gonna continue reading cause I'm also participating in the 24B4Monday readathon which lasts until midnight (and since I haven't finished all of my books…)
But first…my stats!:

Love your stats - very detailed. And congrats on your 4 bingos!

Enjoy the rest of your reading weekend! I'm going to join you since I didn't finish a book yesterday :)

Yes, dividing your time between social media and reading is always a dilemma for me too.
You did great though!

Great readathon!

You did great, Susy! There was SO MUCH going on to participate in this time around. Which is why I avoided all of it. I occasionally posted on the hourly blogs on the website, posted twice on IG, and that's about it!

Thank you Julie!

I agree Ann, that may be the only solution, accepting it lol
Besides, spending a whole day reading is something I do regularly but interacting with you all makes it extra fun!

Thank you Angie!

Great readathon!"
Thank you Emma.
Yes, that's what I used to do (or was it every 3 hours), but now there was also so much activity (including sprints) on Twitter and I liked the instagram photo challenge too… Ah well, I didn't do too bad :D

Thank you Virginia.
Well, I guess all the interaction is what makes this readathon so special, it's not only about the reading itself.
See you in April! :D

Thank you Elyse!
Right? My phone just kept bleeping with all the twitter notifications.
But I had a great time so, I guess that's the important part. And I think I would have enjoyed it even more if I weren't worrying about not having read enough. So that's my goal for April: enjoy the reading ánd enjoy the socialising without worrying about it lol

You're very welcome and in return you helped me find my own thread which I couldn't find! lol
Yes, I'll be participating. Books are ready, snacks are ready and rented a house in the woods with a friend (our tradition for April's Dewey's readathon).
So I'm all set to go (just want to finish my current audiobook as I have less than 50 pages to go).

Hi Susy! While did not chose audiobook just for the RAD, I have been listening to audiobook of Draculaby Bram Stoker and may listen to some later. Hope you enjoy Blackout!

I didn't finish it but am enjoying it very much!
How are you liking Dracula?

Spent more time on social media and sleeping than in April 2020, probably because the last weeks/months have been extremely busy and stressful at work so I was/am pretty tired.
I usually spend less time on social media in April cause I'm with a friend doing the readathon in comparison to October when I readathon alone.
I finished The Sandman series so I probably won't be reading any graphic novels coming readathons, meaning my page count will drop significantly!

Thanks. Yes I am getting into the meat of the story. I thought I would scared, but I am intrigued 👍

Were you happy with your book selections?"
I was! I finished the Sandman series, which are fast (graphic) reads.
And my audiobook was great too (I always have a hard time focusing but it worked well).

Indeed, it's not so much a scary story as it is intriguing!

I did Elyse!
I enjoyed Sandman but with 10 books I was ready to say goodbye lol

All thanks to the graphic novels lol
My page count will drop significantly next readathon as I finished the Sandman series and don't think I will be reading any other graphics (my library hardly has any).

Thank you Susan! :D
