Vivian (vivianvk) | 1 comments Hi Sevval, greetings from Canada; I would like to welcome you to Goodreads; I myself had the account but never really used until recently! Reading, commenting, and writing reviews is a great way to improve your English in no time! You will see a difference! We all go through "reading slumps," and the cure for it is to give time to yourself and maybe explore different genres and books! In my humble opinion reading the same books might to not work; why don't you explore a different author? There are so many marvellous stories out there ready to be discovered! :)

Reethu Ravi (goodreadscomreethu_ravi) | 3 comments Hi Sevval,

I would also suggest reading some short, light books. For instance, I had a terrible reading slump last year. Reading The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman helped me get back to reading. So you could maybe try something like that.
Also, I'd suggest don't force yourself to read - it would get frustrating then. Take breaks while reading and do stuffs other than reading too. Hope this helps!

Sandra | 272 comments Hi, and welcome!

Sometimes I like to read books from my childhood, ones that remind me of how much I love to read. They're easy, light, fun, and might just touch off that spark to read that got lost for you. Afterwards, I find myself looking for something more adult, and move on from there. Just a thought. Stay safe and be well!

Dubheasa Hi Sevval,

Welcome to Goodreads and greetings from Ireland :)

I, too, have found myself in a reading slump and I found that changing the genre of books that I was reading helpped kickstart my joy of reading again.

Hawraa Ali Majeed (hawrea) | 1 comments Hey sevaal,

We’re on the same boat bc you know this is my first comment in good read ever! Lol.
And yes, I just get myself out of a month reading slump period.
I couldn’t do nothing, not only reading but I just couldn’t force myself to pursue reading neither any of my other interests, I did tried but I madly failed.
So I let myself go with the flow and stopped pushing it too hard.
I come around after all, although I don’t think that was helpful but you might enjoy my imperfect English as well haha
