Welcome to the The King of Crows Buddy Read Discussion thread! This thread officially opens on November 13th and anyone can join at any time. Please keep in mind that spoilers are allowed in this thread but only up to the group's current reading place. Do not spoil the book if you've read further than the group. Any extra days can be used to catch up!

Each day we will be reading by chapters or page numbers. Page numbers are an approximation based on the hardcover or paperback that is the default on Goodreads. The suggested Buddy Read discussion schedule is as follows:

Read today's 10%. This one doesn't disappoint so far. Gets right to it and pretty much starts where the last one ended. Of course there is a new diviner character.

My library hold is still in transit but hopefully this weekend. I can't wait to get into this again.

Still haven't started it, but the plan is today because I don't want to have too much to catch up.

This schedule is just a recommendation, we don't have to read how much and when it says. I still haven't started it, but I'll need to because next week is going to be with more buddy reads and the question is will I be able to read those 10%.

(view spoiler)[ I really hate Jake. Like how can someone be that way, believing so much in their cause that they disregard everyone's life. I was really annoyed at that part, and even though I found it fascinating that there were and still are people like that.

Things certainly became more complicated now that everyone is looking for them and they are on the run. (hide spoiler)]

Ugh, I got the notice for curbside pick up yesterday. Unfortunately I had to drive 9 hours away from library yesterday because my dad broke his hip and will be away at least the next week. :( I may just buy to be able to start reading.

How is it? I've seen lots of mixed reviews on this one.

I'm currently at 38%

Hi yall! I'll join since my copy came :D I'm at 37% and so far it's intriguing and loving it but I'm still at the sort of slow parts

Well, it's okay. I may be in a bit of a slump because I'm not feeling like reading it much, but it's good. I'm half-way through and nothing much has happened, I mean things are happening just nothing like big, at least not yet.

Not sure how I feel about Sarah Beth. I know she was one of the files they found. Hoping for the best.

The Diviners are being messed with.

73% (view spoiler)[ They got to Sarah Beth and all seems okay, but I'm still paranoid and expect something bad to happen.

Also, I just knew in the last book when they joined powers to destroy the ghosts that it'll come to bite them back. (hide spoiler)]

75% (view spoiler)[ -.- Evie giving us mixed signals about Jericho. Like, what because he liked her she now has some right to feel jealous or whatever. (hide spoiler)]

80% (view spoiler)[ HA! She died and was brought back. I guess now we know something about Sarah Beth.. She mentions her sweetheart and now I'm thinking... is she maybe thinking of King od Crows? because wtf and gross. Oh.. she says when her gentle man makes her queen.. yeah.. I think she's talking about the King of crows. (hide spoiler)]

I finished it! I sped through it because even though the writing, the world and the characters are great I had trouble picking it up, which was the same case with the previous book too
(view spoiler)[The end of the King of Crows was interesting, it looked like an end that would happen in a children's story, but I don't mind it. It's nice that Isaiah got back, because I was shocked when he died. Jericho.. eh, I didn't care much about him, but at least he had a semi-love story so good for him. I like how in the end they lost their powers, or there's very little left, and now they can have a more normal life (hide spoiler)]

Beginning to question Sarah Beth. When she said something about her gentleman friend making her his "queen" that got me worried???

Finished it early. Just wanted to see how it ended.

(view spoiler)[ Enjoyed it, but knew it would be a mostly happy ending. All those towns gone though. Eek! Glad Evie ended up with Sam. Yes liked Jericho a little better when he was not around Evie, but not sad that he didn't make it. Loved that Isaiah was the one who killed the king of crows. Now he won't be considered such a little boy even though he was. Pastrami for everyone. I am hungry now!!! (hide spoiler)]

Oh dear, kind of concerned by the comments. I finally started on Friday and am a third of the way through but may need to pause.

Thanks Mina! He will be okay but not much time for reading these days.

Still plugging away at this one. It isn't quite as engaging and dynamic as the earlier ones leaning towards epic quest and fits of poetic thoughts rather than action. The Diviners have finally made it to Bountiful but they haven't quite sorted it all yet. I'm not quite sure how it will all work.

Finished last night. Still not quite sure how I feel. The progress was a bit slow and then just a bit weird. I will miss most of the characters though.

it wasn't the best book. To be honest, I was really enjoying the first, but after that even though I liked the books I wasn't as amazed as when I read the first one.

Agreed, I was so energized by the first and devoured and then it was a bit more of forcing in the end which is a shame. It had great potential.

The first book is something I want to read more, YA murder mystery with the occult. Yeah, I had to push through the last one when we buddy read it, and we had more chapters a day to read too. I pushed through this one too, but it took me less.
