I can't believe it has taken me this long to read one book for this tag. I haven't read only one book for a tag in ages and I had plenty to read for this one. :-(

As usual, a fun read. Chet the Jet always makes me laugh. According to Chet, who narrates the story, Bernie is the smartest human on the planet. He's a little prejudiced and he's the canine side of this team. Chet, as they say about dogs, is a bit ADD. In fact, I have two grandsons who are ADD and this series is perfect for making me understand them. I wonder how Quinn does it?

In this particular episode, Bernie is hired by the City to protect their interests as they try to become a film destination for movie makers. Bernie is not all that thrilled to take the job but they are offering a lot of money and his finances are in very bad shape. Chet (he's the dog remember) is always worried about the state of their finances. Bernie is going to have to basically baby-sit for Thad Perry the young star who has been known to have issues with drugs. The movie making itself doesn't interest Bernie at all. He's not impressed and, in fact, very upset with the portrayal of the history of the area. Add to that, Suzie (Bernie's love interest) has been offered a big job in DC and Bernie has to encourage her and he misses her, as does Chet. There's always a mystery and, in this case, some murders that the guys have to solve to save Thad who is definitely on the down slide.

If I have a complaint, and maybe its only this episode, Chet's dialog and asides will sometimes slow the story. It seemed to bother me a bit on this one. On the other hand, there's always a laugh and I like that. I recommend this series to lots of my friends and I know there are many here who like it too.

Robin P | 5743 comments I love this series, largely because the audio is delightful. Jeff Frangione, who narrates, must have been a dog in another life! I never get tired of Chet's asides. On this one, the whole story of a crime from years ago wasn't really my favorite but it didn't really matter.
