Surendran Murugesan | 3 comments Inspite of not having a core thrilling story, the god of small things had something gripping. Definitely not the orange drink man. Something. May be the style of writing? May be the native Indian backdrop. The understandable socio political scenario? Whenever I read a few pages I felt connected. It was a feel good book. Felt like resting under a tree. And would love to find something similar built around Tamilnadu. English/Tamil.
If you liked it too, then share other books that interested you. May be I'll find it interesting too.

@Surendran - I have not read "The God of Small Things". From the way you have explained, I have felt such closeness to the works of வண்ணதாசன் (vannadasan), அ. முத்துலிங்கம், ஜேகே. Following are their blogs for you to try their writing.

வண்ணதாசன் - http://vannathaasan.blogspot.com/
அ. முத்துலிங்கம் - http://amuttu.net/
ஜேகே - https://www.padalay.com/

@Ciby - I have read மாதொருபாகன் Madhorubhagan . Though it deals with the issues of land it is still lot on the personal conflict of the lead characters & a bit strong plot.

I can't remember when I tried to read God of Small Things. Maybe 20 years ago. Surely I didn't finish reading it. But somewhat felt connected with Chemeenചെമ്മീൻ Chemmeen. Maybe solely for Kerala background.
