Hey guys!! I’m Aliyah and I haven’t read any of the shadowhunter books yet. But I did watch the show and I lovedd Izzy. Also haven’t watched the movie so I can’t say which I prefer XD

This would be my first time re reading the shadowhunter books.

My favourite series is the mortal instruments. (fav book is probably city of lost souls)

I prefer the movie.

Heya! My name is Edén, and yeah it's kinda my first time reading Shadowhunters books, because I've only read the first one and then dropped them in the kindle haha. But I was planning to read them soon so this challenge is perfect for me! I don't have any favorites yet, and I prefer the show waaaaay over the film which was a free-spoiler to everyone who hasn't finished the series :p

i saw both adaptations and i prefer the movie (lily collins i love you) but magnus and alec from the show are adorable and i can't wait to read about them <3

I have mixed feelings on show malec. I like to keep the show separate from the books. While show Malec is cute, it is nothing like the book Malec.

Hey, I'm Tisha! I've read most Shadowhunter books thrice, except for Chain of Gold and The Eldest Curses :(
I hope to read them soon. I think I love TID the most, though TMI and TDA aren't far behind.
The movie SUCKS, and the show...is different. I mean, they changed the storyline, so you can't really compare it with the books. Which are always better, in my opinion :D

a personal suggestion from me is to watch the movie before reading City of bones. i know i know you will say that you will be spoiled and all that but trust me, you won't. i don't know how to explain this, the movie and the book is veryyyy different and even the ones who have read the book won't understand what the movie is trying to say. but its so much easier to imagine every thing with the movie. the silent city, the silent brothers, magnus bane! hodge, clary's apartment etc.. have been done so well.
(just a lil suggestion from my side :) i think you can find the full movie on YouTube)

hey, I'm Bee. I actually read tmi and tda only but I read all books just this year. and now I'm re-reading tmi lol just because it's been long since I last read it and had to remember a few things. it's not the best but it's just the series that introduced me to this world so I like it. I love TID and TDA the most!! And short stories are all really good!!

and the show can't be compared to the books because they changed everything. from storyline to the characters age and personality.

It would be my first time re-reading all the series, and the 4th time re-reading The Infernal Devices (i just really love that trilogy). Although I think i came too late for that :")

My favorite series is The Infernal Devices (hehehe you were not expecting that), and my favorite book is Clockwork Prince.... (Although Chain of Gold STOLE MY ENTIRE HEART)

I prefer the movie, I'm sorry but the show sucks. I really wanted to like it but...

Hello my name is Alyson or Ally and I have read all the shadowhunters books before and am exited to re-read the books!!

My favourite series is the Infernal Devices and book would be Lord of Shadows(but I have a feeling that it will change as soon as the wicked powers comes about because my 3 of my favs are in it (Kit, Ty and Dru) but chain of gold also stole my heart but we will see)

I don't really like the movie or the tv show but I thought Lily did a good job of clary and the tv alec stole my heart.

2 Thus is not my first time reading these books, I’m currently reading the dark artifices and I’ve already read TID and TMI.
3 My favorite again is TID, I honestly had really low expectations on it because I don’t usually like sagas that are not the principal but since everyone was reading it I decided to. And after reading it I realized how wrong I was, IT WAS BEAUTIFUL, the characters, the plot, everything. I think what I liked the most is that the love triangle didn’t involve any hate at all.
4 Being honest, I got introduced to this world because I watched the series on Netflix. But after reading the books I must admit that the movie was pretty similar to the book compared to the series, but still I liked both.
