I wonder if I might trouble a kind librarian to combine the separate listings of In the Shelter of the Pine: A Memoir of Yanagisawa Yoshiyasu and Tokugawa Japan (also: In the Shelter of the Pine: A Memoir of Yanagisawa Yoshiyasu and Tokugawa Japan--and add the book to my profile: G.G. Rowley. Note that I am the translator, not the author, of In the Shelter of the Pine. The author of the original Japanese text is Ōgimachi (family name; Japanese=正親町) Machiko (first name; Japanese=町子), dates ca. 1679-1724. It'd also be hugely helpful if you could add the cover, which can be found here: https://cup.columbia.edu/book/in-the-..., as well as on the various Amazon sites.

Thank you very, very much for taking the time to correct all this! Everything looks great now: I really am grateful to you. The original Japanese title of the work is Matsukage nikki (Japanese: 松蔭日記). It's also known as Matsukage no nikki (Japanese: 松蔭の日記). Date of completion: ca. 1712. The work circulated widely in the form of manuscript copies before it was first printed in 1885. If there's any further information I can provide, please don't hesitate to get in touch!
