Ok is it me, or is anyone else struggling through Chapter XI?!?!

Haven't started the week's reading on this yet, but uh ohhhh :)

Brian - let's just put it this way - I showed my ten year old her first sentence that was a whole page. She told me she'd rather read her Land of Stories series 😂

Dorian's hedonism is out of control. He looks at the portrait now and loathes himself, yet seems incapable of stopping, or even of taking responsibility: "He winced at the memory of all that he had suffered, and for a moment the same curious feeling of loathing for Basil Hallward that had made him kill him...".

Agreed! He's saturating all his senses with various vices and it will never be enough.

And he won't take responsibility. He didn't kill Basil: a feeling of loathing MADE him kill Basil.
