Connor (borknoger1310) | 13 comments I'd love to get some Stephen King without many sexual encounters, scenes, etc. I can handle violence, gore, and language, but I just don't like to read sexual books. Any recommendations?

Joseph (jsaltal) Thanks for the information!

ja (pelssy) | 2 comments I believe so! I read it a while ago. It was one of my favourites I think because it didn’t have any sexual weird stuff in it lol; I think that takes away from the book.

Under the Dome has sexual content so you will wanna stay away from that. The Bill Hodges Trilogy I believe has no sexual content, but I've only read Finders Keepers out of the three XD. Elevation has NADA, ZILCH, ZERO sexual content (view spoiler). The Outsider (At least from where I am) has had no sexual content and I don't think it will.

Connor (borknoger1310) | 13 comments Thanks so much for the recommendations, I’ve added the outsiders and elevation to my list. I’ll look into pet semetery because I’m still not sure.

It's The Outsider. There is a huge difference because a very very VERY well known book has an s

Laura The first book in the Bill Hodges trilogy (Mr Mercedes) definitely does have some messed up sexual content in it. The other two books do not

Thanks for clearing that up. Now I know to be wary when reading Mr. Mercedes

It doesn't have a graphic description on the actual assault because (view spoiler)

Alicia A. | 21 comments I am almost positive (like 99%) that Insomnia doesn't have anything sexual but if someone has read it recently and there is I will stand corrected. I loved that book, I think it's time to read it again.

I'm pretty sure you're right. The protagonists in the book are old people, so that "helps". And I loved that book too, I've read it twice and will probably read it again someday.

Charles | 96 comments It's been a while since I read it, but what about Duma Key. That is a severely underrated SK novel.

message 16: by Connor (new)

Connor (borknoger1310) | 13 comments Thanks so much to all who have responded! Your responses have helped add a lot of books to my list. I mistakenly typed 'the outsiders' rather than 'the outsider', that's my bad. I've added most of the books to my list.

message 17: by Charles (new)

Charles | 96 comments The Outsider does have some disturbing sexual assault content early in the story, so be prepared for that. Also The Outsider takes place after the events of the Bill Hodges Trilogy and there is a major spoiler related to that series in The Outsider.

message 18: by Connor (new)

Connor (borknoger1310) | 13 comments Okay, thanks for letting me know! I will remove that one from my list.

I looked into it, and there are two graphic sex scenes.

In Pet Sematary? Wow, I didn't remember this. But I guess I'm not that surprised; goes to show that a King novel w/o any sex is going to be pretty slim pickin's.

the struggle is real

message 22: by Charles (new)

Charles | 96 comments I dont recall ANY sex scenes in Pet Semetary, let alone any GRAPHIC scenes.

Kandice | 4387 comments There is this (view spoiler), but it's a quote from Gage, and not an act. Still icky.

I'd call that pretty graphic.

It is, and if one insists on not being exposed to any prose of that nature, one simply needs to cross Stephen King off one's to-read list.

message 26: by Laura (new)

Laura I’m almost certain there’s no sex in Misery and it’s one of his best

I just read Duma Key and although it took me a while, there isn't any sexual content in there as far as I remember.

message 28: by Scott (new)

Scott Neumann (scottneumann) | 24 comments There is a sex scene in Pet Semetary between Louis and Rachel in the bathtub and it is a little explicit. Some Of King's bbooks that don't have sex are...
The Long Walk,
Roadwork,
The Running Man,
The Green Mile,
Firestarter,
The Gunslinger,
Cycle of the Werewolf
The Regulators.

Those are few off the top of my head, others that do have sex scenes but are not explicit are...

Rose Madder,
The Talisman,
Black House,
The Dead Zone,
Desperation,
Joyland,
Revival.

Hope this helps you out.

You guys are incredible! I came in here thinking "Oh, there probably isn't any good King books without sexual stuff, but I really want to read some, I guess I'll ask people on goodreads," but MAN you guys are good. Thanks so much again for all who gave recommendations. You have my thanks.

There is a bathtub masturbation scene in Pet Sematary between the lead character and his wife.
