Constant Reader discussion

I came across this 1999 discussion of Kundera's Book of Laughter and Forgetting from the old board, and was really surprised by how much I enjoyed reading it. I decided Words & Writing was the best place to share it.
It's funny (laughter) but I feel I was a different person in many respects back then (forgetting).
