Blue Team
Melanie reached the creek and began wading through it. Gods, she wished the Poseidon and Hades campers had showed up, she thought as hurried across and then into Red Territory.

Blue Team
Brooke had just waded across when she saw Melanie running towards her with the other team's Flag a couple meters away. "Woah," Brooke said. "How did you get it so easily? Not even a-" Melanie kept running and then passed her, not waiting for her to finish.

Blue Team
"-a scratch on you." Brooke was clearly impressed. Melanie shook her head, unable to breathe to speak as she began splashing through the creek to the other side. When she reached the other side, she was soaked, collapsing to the ground, gasping for air.

The conch horn sounded for the end of the game.

Red team
Tim walked over to see the blue team with their flag. He sighed. "Good battle." He said to the girls.

Melanie nodded her head, still trying to breathe. Brooke waded across again, covering one of her bleeding wounds. "Thanks," she answered. Then, she looked down at Melanie. "You okay, Wednesday?" she asked, nicknaming her after the daughter in the Addams Family. Melanie nodded, coughing. "What do you go by?" Brooke asked Tim.

Blue team

Having heard the corn, Amber ran up to the creek and saw Melanie breathless, the flag with the symbol Melinoe on it. She grinned and walked up to Melanie, breathing hard too.

"Tim." He said as he cleaned his shoulder wound.

Amber took a few steps back, not wanting to interrupt and smiled looking down at her dagger. She put her spray, that hadn't helped her at all, in her pocket and summoned the muffin her mother always gave her after a lot of effort. She grinned interiorly as she took a bite of the snack and whispered a silent prayer to her mom.

((It's amazing. Brooke and Kendra didn't meet on the battlefield. I thought there would a big former lover's quarrel.))

"Brooke, daughter of Pan," she answered. Remembering she was still holding two of her tomahawks, she resheathed one on her belt and then the other on her back. She winced as she reached back.

((Maybe Tim should recognize her name because of Kendra. Brooke was Kendra's ex-girlfriend that was missing up until about a half year ago. The two had an on and off again relationship. Brooke is in a relationship again and Kendra has been dating unsuccessfully. Kendra probably still has feelings for her, but she won't admit it.))

"Oh." Tim said as he stretched the back of his neck. "Your Kendra’s ex." He said as he counted his arrows left in his quiver. "Kendra is my sister, we’re kinda close."

"Yes," Brooke confirmed in a slow voice when he mentioned her being Kendra's ex-girlfriend. When he said that her expression softened. "How is she?" she asked. "Does she ever talk about me?"

((Kendra was recently sort of stood up by a guy she really liked.))

Tim looked down at his hand then back up at Brooke. "I mean sometimes. I bet she would like it if you talked to her." He said carefully. Kendra had been hinting about still having feeling for Brooke. If he could just nudge them in the right direction.

Amber inched forward a bit after having finished up her muffin. She feigned interest in her dagger, but was in fact listening with a smile on her face to the conversation.

Her blue eyes brightened. "She would?" Then she sighed. "She told me that it was over." She raised her hands and then let them fall. "Again."

Tim sighed. "I know it seems like she doesn’t want to talk. But I see how she acts when you guys aren’t together. Talk to her." He says as he looks at Brooke.

((Hah, this will be complicated. Kendra is supposed to end up with Atreus.))

"Okay," Brooke said without any of her usual brash or humorous remarks or her snarkiness. "Is she out here for Capture the Flag today?" she asked.

Tim nodded and pointless towards the northern forest. "She stated to guard the flag. I’m surprised you didn’t run into her." He said.

"I should get to the infirmary. Since there is probably going to be a demigod or two in there already." He said as he gathered up his things. "Good luck." He said to Brooke before he head off.

"Thanks," said Brooke. Melanie had just caught her breath enough to speak when she heard what Tim said. Her eyes widened. "Wait. Did he just say she was guarding the flag?" she asked, touching her arm. Brooke confirmed it. "She might not be in the right... frame of mind to talk."

Then, she remembered Melanie running through the forest to the creek, unharmed. "What did you do?" demanded Brooke. Melanie's expression composed into a defensive reserve. Her hand withdrew. When she didn't answer right away, Brooke ran across the creek and into the woods to find Kendra. Her voice could be heard calling her name.
