Guy | 108 comments I'm at 74 already this year after pledging 60. Might as well try. What did you sign up for?

message 4: by Jonathan (new)

Jonathan | 19 comments This year 24 and I'm struggling with that; I knew I was going to read some long books and ones I didn't own at the beginning of the year. I'm not sure what to go for next year yet.

message 5: by Guy (new)

Guy | 108 comments Long books should count as extra.

message 6: by Bethea Scovic (new)

Bethea Scovic (bethea) | 30 comments Guy, I agree that long books should count as extra! I have The Stand, It, and War and Peace on my TBR piles. However, I signed up for 100 books next year. I'll never make it if I read any books that large! Maybe I'll sign up for 12 books in 2022 to conquer the large novels.

message 7: by Carla (new)

Carla B (carlamwestyahoocom) | 61 comments Bethea, my "strategy" is to read a tough book in the background. so I usually have a few going at a time whereas one is pretty easy so I can make progress in my allotted time and still make progress on a tough book. granted I horribly failed last year, reading only 23 book. I usually do between 60-75. But I will allot myself a week, grab an easy read and when I finish that during my week I pick up the tough one I'm working on. I did finally.manage to finish IT this year.
