The book follows a character who recently has been released from a psychiatric facility even though he might not have been entirely ready to face the world. I really think the writer did a good job describing the struggles that he has and his perspective. I have a family member who fought a mental illness for a number of years and things that I witnessed with him were described in the book in a believable way.

I've seen the movie but I think I saw it soon after it came out so it's been enough years that the details are super fuzzy. Essentially, all I remember about it is a dance scene and the actors that were in the movie. LOL.. It gave enough distance that I was able to listen to the book without too much influence from my impressions about the movie.

I listened to the book rather than read it and really enjoyed it.

I was incredibly excited to use this for not only this tag but to fulfill one of my final Popsugar prompts as well!

I really liked this one. Never have seen the movie.
