This is the perfect quick and quirky read to get you into the Christmas spirit! Her family is huge, but so warm and comfortable. They’re almost familiar, but maybe that’s because I also have a large, Southern family full of busybodies with the best intentions.

I really only have a couple of minor complaints about 10 Blind Dates that take hardly anything away from the experience. Firstly, while her enormous family is comforting, there are just too many of them to keep track of in my mind. Then she throws in all of the boys Sophie goes on dates with and I really lose track. The story still works really well if you can remember all the major players, but I wish I could keep track of everyone. Secondly, while the Nativity date was probably my favorite of all of her dates, I could’ve done without the “Hundred Hands Harold” bit. He can still be aggressive without getting into assault territory. I honestly think it would’ve been funnier without that bit. It was just strange that the younger girl had to warn Sophie about his reputation.

All-in-all, this book was fun, fast-paced, and a relaxing read. I particularly enjoyed how Sophie got to know herself and her cousins again after being sucked too deeply into a relationship that wasn’t really good for her. That said, the dates were nice and fun, but for me it’s really the family dynamics that make this book so enjoyable.
