DNF I didn't like the writing style and didn't get drawn into the story. Sadly, I was not able to finish this book.
June: Scottish / Highlander

DNF at 50% I really tried, but in the end decided to stop wasting my time and abandoned the read. I didn't like the writing style or the characterisations. I think this author is not for me. Darn. Two dnf's two months in a row for this challenge. Oh well, next month is the new Lisa Kleypas book so I expect I'll be able to finish that one LOL.

The first post now has links to all participants. Welcome everyone that has joined thus far! We have new and returning participants so hopefully will be a fun year for reading across the ages. I'm looking forward to it!
Also, post 3 now has lists that pertain to the topic/age. I did make one adjustment to the categories by broadening the American Revolution to just Revolutionary War as a setting. There's a number of romances set during the French Revolution and there are other Revolutionary Wars also. This change was made because we had a similar response to Civil War, any civil war will do for the setting. If you find other relevant lists, let me know and I can add the link.

Thanks Mariana. Great

I assumed so since we are in a HR group

Hope you enjoy. I found it to be unique and historically accurate.
I am going to read Innocent in the Sheikh's Harem for my Around the World selection. I own it but haven’t been able to get to it yet. Now’s my push.

This was a nice enjoyable read. Phoebe is the mail order bride. Who with her mother goes to Colorado to marry Abe, who is white/Cherokee. The prejudice of the small town, does not make life easy for the couple.

Oh, yeah, I liked that one too.

for my around the world I'm reading Mandu by Malati Ramachandran, based on 16th century Mughal King Baz Bahadur love for a Hindu girl Roopmathi. its definitely very poetic and sounds promising.

That sounds interesting.
I read and enjoyed The Other Guy's Bride set in Egypt.

That is great to know. I am listening to the St Cyr series and love them. I am glad to find out she is just as good in other areas.

She is SO good.

Glad you enjoyed it! A few years back a friend gave me Whispers of Heaven by her. I read and enjoyed it but I haven't read any of her other work. It was also set in colonial Australia.
