Has anyone else read this yet? I did and as usual, loved it. It could be a little confusing in the timeline though, since it apparently takes place before the novel, Network Effect, and I didn't realize that at first. I thought it went by way too fast! After the novel I thought we would be getting longer books from now on, but any Murderbot is good. I'm looking forward to reading the next one.

I also thought she’d transitioned to full length novels. It wasn’t until after I’d written my review that I read in someone else’s that it happened before NE. Apparently I didn’t pick up on any of those details, it was more about the character. I really liked it though! I hope the story progresses more in the next installment.

I just got my copy and will be reading it soon! Quite pricey for a novella - but Martha Wells is one of the few authors I will splurge on, because I can't wait for a library copy.

Normally I'd update with chapter-by-chapter comments, but I just breezed through this.

Ahh, Niki, I didn't pick up on that either that it occurred before NE. This one was very much a standalone bite-sized snack of an operation. I enjoyed it for the snarky comments and the action, but since we spend most of the time apart from the original Preservation crew members, there's less of the reluctantly squishy feels.

I also hope that the next book(s) continue with the post-NE storyline.

I decided to participate in the read and then I found I consumed the book in one sitting. I just love this character and how asocial and awkward Murderbot’s behavior is. It feels very close to home, more human than AI.
I also liked the fact we went back to a shorter story. But then, I missed ART. I loved the book though!

I read this the other day, didn't realize there was a BR for it! Like you guys I missed the fact it was set before NE. I enjoyed this one a lot but I did miss ART.

I actually really liked that (view spoiler)[ The bot was the villain this time. Even if technically it was programmed by a human, you don't often see bots in this world being deceptive apart from Murderbot so that was cool.

Overall it was a fun installment to the series and I loved it. (hide spoiler)]
