As long as it's polite, I think it's a great idea and you can combine it with discussion of books as well.. create a topic if you want

Hey.. you can proceed with this if you like and you don't need to wait for Elisa's permission for now..

It's a good idea but elaborate a little maybe about what you plan to do in that game?

I have created the topic in games folder and since you gave this idea it would be great if you head there and specify the rules and how to play it.
Others can find the game "Never have I ever" in games section.

That's neat! Welcome! Within our group? The books on our shelves are books that we are reading as a group discussion. We voted on these books to read as a group :D
Carly wrote: "Hi, Just starting to learn about GoodReads groups - I am a first time author (self published to Kindle). Just curious how do you decide/determine what gets added to the bookshelf of books coming soon?"
Hey Carly! Welcome. So, to answer your question first, we decide the theme firstly of the book and then the book. This is done through polls since this is a group reading so everyone votes on their most preferred
theme/book.The one which wins is added to bookshelf then. As you can see on the homepage, the upcoming books the group will be reading are from 1st Jan 2021.
I hope this clarifies your doubts.
Secondly since you are new to this, I would suggest you to go through rules first then any topic like Challenge, BOTM, games etc.

Lol. haha

Oh book links? If u r on a computer or chromebook, you simply hit 'add book/author' and type in the book. If it's another link, just copy the link into the post. I don't believe it is possible on the app. But on the website it should work.

Well, there is a problem I always struggle with when wanting to read a book from some particular genre or on a particular topic––Finding and selecting a book to read.
If there could be a place where I could put in my requirement, say, "Black Holes," or "World War," and a book reader could recommend the same, that would be pretty good.
I know there is already an "ask for recommendation" option on Goodreads, but, this is different. How? The person would have to trust the recommendation and read the book, yes I am an optimist, but this will also save his/her time.
This suggestion is based on my love of serendipity and finding good content even inside the worst of covers.

Oh yes! Well, let's see. There is not a particular way to do this on Goodreads, but in our group you certainly can! If you go to our I NEED SOMETHING TO READ you will be able to specify what you want to read and someone may be able to get back to you with a good book that's fits specifically what you want. You can also check out the book before reading so you are certain you'll like it.

Sure... it's a good idea. It can be done. Thanks for suggesting!

For example,
Person 1: name a character who loves reading.
Person 2: Tyrion Lannister from asoiaf. Name a character with red hair...
And so on. I hope you like the idea :)

I like this idea... I would say you make the topic yourself in the bookish games folder since it's your idea, if you'll like to, otherwise I'll do it :-)

Ari wrote: "How do you do the view spoilers thing?"
You add < spoiler> then write whatever is meant to be spoiler and then close it with < /spoiler>
Remove the spaces in the tags and it will work.
Hope this helps.

We divide the BOTMs in 4 checkpoints according to sections and at each checkpoint Volunteer has to put up a minimum of 3 questions for the section read, like if checkpoint A covered Chapter 1-7, then the Volunteer has to put up questions regarding it, on the specific date.. hope this clears up your doubt.

Oh ok, and how do we choose the BOTM? Do you guys do a poll or something?

Yes, we do genre poll and then there's a poll for winning genre, there's a poll currently for breaking tie between two genres, you can vote here

Carol LB wrote: "One question. The last poll I voted on was the one about "Which author would you like to meet". Why doesn't this poll appear in the section if polls?"
It's not featured, so it doesn't appears on the top, but if you'll check downwards, you'll find it.
