Play Book Tag discussion

In the scorching summer of 1976, 1o-year-old best friends Grace and Tilly are trying to solve a mystery in their English neighborhood. Mrs. Creasey has gone missing and no one, least of all her husband, has any idea why she disappeared. Inspired by the local vicar the girls decide to look for God in the area by knocking on doors and interviewing the neighbors. What they find is a web of secrets that seems to entangle everyone they speak to. Underlying all of their conversations is a fear that something that happened nearly a decade earlier will come to light. Apparently Mrs. Creasey had begun to decipher some hidden clues about that long ago incident just before she disappeared. Grace and Tilly are determined to find God and Mrs. Creasey before the summer is over.

The two little girls are fun and charming; outspoken, brave Grace and reticent, quiet Tilly. The neighbors, and there are a lot of them, are all different with their own secrets to protect. I was confused a good deal of the time about what exactly was going on. I can't say it was a completely satisfying ending as one neighbor was absolutely bullied and vilified throughout the story but it was interesting.
