Andrea Cox (andreacox) I'm aiming for eight books.

Anyone have a favorite book from 2020? I'm looking for recommendations for the "friend recommended" category.

My favorite was probably the one I just finished: Moonscript by H.S.J. Williams. But I'm not sure that one would be to your tastes.

One book I read this year that you probably would like, though, would be He Whistles for the Cricket by Gwen Walker. He Whistles for the Cricket by Gwen Walker Super sweet historical with a classic feel, dogs, and touching Christian themes. 160 pages, so it would work for the challenge. ;)

Jennifer (jennbehindthebooks) | 19 comments I'm not sure what types of books you typically enjoy all but a couple of my favorite from this year have been The Hope of Azure Springs by Rachel Fordham Yours Truly, Thomas by Rachel Fordham The Butterfly and the Violin (Hidden Masterpiece, #1) by Kristy Cambron
The first two are a little more sentimental, Love Comes Softly type, the last one is much more "set you straight down in the middle of WWII and see what it was like" - very powerful, but emotional!

Andrea Cox (andreacox) Thanks for the recommendations! I've already read Yours Truly and Butterfly. Keep 'em coming, y'all.

For anyone who needs recs also, I loved these this year:
The Love Note by Joanna Davidson Politano The Librarian of Boone's Hollow by Kim Vogel Sawyer Treasured Grace (Heart of the Frontier, #1) by Tracie Peterson The Plans We Made by Kathryn Cushman Not by Sight by Kate Breslin

There are many more, if you need additional recs. I'm happy to add more to the list when I have more time. Just let me know if you need them.

message 7: by Clarissa (new)

Clarissa Choo (clarissachoowriter) | 8 comments I would recommend To Kill a Mockingbird.

message 8: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) Ooh! I have seen the movie a few times but have never read the book. I ought to do that... I don't know if it will fit into January, but hopefully sometime in 2021!
