Melissa Crayton | 3 comments I read the book in the early 2000s but I feel like it was written a few decades before that. I feel like it was a young person living in a cave with maybe a grandparent. I know the main character could visit other worlds in books and was learning how to create worlds by writing the books. They had to be careful when writing/creating so that the world was stable. I know in one book the main character was upset to find out that the world that seemed so great was because they used slaves to do everything for them. It wasn't obvious that people were enslaved at first. I feel like the main character found out that some of the past authors had written worlds that believed they were gods when they would go visit them.

Genesistrine | 571 comments The Book of Atrus?

It's not mentioned on that page, but the book starts with Atrus living in the desert with his grandmother Anna/Ti'ana.

Melissa, is this book for kids, teens or adults?

I added a few details to the header/topic title. You can update it by clicking the small "edit" link after the header. This only works on the full Desktop website - not the Mobile website or app. (On the Mobile website, click the "Desktop version" link at the bottom of the page.)

Here's a Google Books preview that contains Genesistrine's suggestion - The Book of Atrus by Rand Miller: https://books.google.com/books?id=NaW...

Here's a plot summary - with Spoilers - on Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Mys...

Should we mark your request as Solved?
