Libby (adjoas) | 90 comments This year I surpassed my 50-book challenge goal and will try to read about 80 or more for 2021. I normally find it a bit difficult to follow specific challenges (usually due to laziness or busy schedules) but I'm making sure that I'm including books I really want to read. Also, I won't be including books I started in 2020 for this year's challenge.

Libby (adjoas) | 90 comments Finished reading A Court of Thorns and Roses and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets this week :). I did a super short review of the latter and plan to write one for ACOTAR

I also decided to DNF More Than You Can Chew

Libby (adjoas) | 90 comments January Recap
1.Morning Glories, Vol. 1: For a Better Future
2.A Court of Thorns and Roses
3.Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
4.Different Seasons
5.Gokushufudo: The Way of House Husband 1
6. Mexican Gothic

Favourite reads for this month would have to be ACOTAR and The Way of the House Husband. I've written reviews for them :)

Side note: hopefully I read a little more for February. My focus will be on romance novels and books by and/or about Black figures in history

Libby (adjoas) | 90 comments February Recap

1. A Court of Mist and Fury
2. The Way of the Househusband, Vol. 2
3.Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
4. The Good Immigrant: 26 Writers Reflect on America
5.The Wedding Date
6.Sulwe

My favourite books for this month would be Sulwe and ACOMF. I didn't end of reading books on historical black figures for Black History Month but I was able to read from a quite a few black authors (there was a good amount of black writers in The Good Immigrant).

Hoping for the month of March I read a little bit more but of course I'll try not to place too much pressure on myself.

Libby (adjoas) | 90 comments March Recap

1.BEASTARS, Vol. 3
2. Black Lagoon, Vol. 1
3. The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl
4.Outlander
5.Happily Ever Afters

For this month, the books I enjoyed the most were Outlander and Beastars (volume 3). I'm a big fan of the Outlander TV series (haven't started season 5 yet!) and I was really excited to get into the books. The Outlander reddit group often recommend the audiobooks and I'm glad I followed their suggestion. The narrator was great and I enjoyed her way of telling the story.

For Beastars volume 3, I've written a review already so if anyone is interested to read my thoughts you can check it out.

This month was pretty busy for me (work) which affected my motivation to read more. I really wanted to try to surpass the amount of books I read for the past two months but 5 books in a busy season of time for me is good enough!

Evicted: Poverty and Profit in the American City

This book was great and eye-opening. I learned a lot and would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to know more about the housing crisis in Milwaukee (a lot of the problems can apply to other American cities)
