In the 80´s I read a series of books, not in order, about humans that can telepathycally speak with big cats, like pumas, panthers, etc, and form a type of alliance to establish a peaceful area/region. If I remember correctly, it was after earth had gone through a nuclear war, so it was "kind of" post-apocaliptic. I cannot remember much else, apart from the era, which seemed aound the medieval time, as I remember there being cavalry troops and spearmen.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
