I read Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir. Give this one a try if you're looking for sci-fi rooted in hard science, low on the angst, and sprinkled through with refreshing, self-effacing humor (seriously, my favorite part of this book was the humor!).

Michelle Youll | 15 comments I read The Martian by Andy Weir. I was skeptical about this book. I liked the movie but I wasn't sure I wanted to read a book with all the math and science. While most of the math and science went over my head, this book is really good! It was captivating and exciting to read about how he was going to get off Mars!
