Plays are meant to be watched, but you can absolutely read them too! If you can pair it up with a stage production or adaptation, even better!

I ended up reading Ma Rainey's Black Bottom by August Wilson. It was a quick read & gave an interesting insight into what black musicians may have (still be) thinking about working with white people. I plan to read more in this series.
