Just finished & returned the eBook to the library

I'll be starting the book today, if the kids let me. :)

I read the first 90 pages of this on my long MBTA commute from Braintree to Cambridge this morning. Ugh, the commute is so brutal these days. But at least I had a book!!

I hate to even mention it, but is there a plan for adverse weather? This morning, it looked like snow/freezing rain on Sunday.

I'm about halfway through and I like it so far.

I just realized that our next book club falls on National Margarita Day. Sort of perfect since we're reading a book about people coming over from Mexico and other Spanish speaking countries!

Change of venue due to potential parking challenges in Scituate.

So, about the book...

I finished it last night and overall, I enjoyed it. We seem to have inadvertently picked another book that has a character with a brain injury.

I knew something bad was going to happen but would have guessed that the violence would have been Garrett assaulting Maribel.

Of course, in the end, garret was involved in Aruturo's death, but Maribel was not directly involved in that interaction.

I agree, it was funny about the brain injury. It's my fault I'm sure, I can't seem to escape it!

I was betting (view spoiler)[they were going to be in a car accident in the snow storm. Once Alma came clean about Garrett I figured Garrett was going to beat Arturo. I haven't found a spot for this one on the popsugar challenge. I got a little teary when Celia brought Alma the envelope of money but I can't say I really cried. I know I'm ridiculous. I teared up even though I saw it coming from a mile away. (hide spoiler)]
