A place to discuss books with the theme " Keys, passes (opening new doors)" for our 2021 reading challenge.

Amanda | 257 comments I've just finished Lonely Castle in the Mirror which is due out in March. It's very sweet!

My review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

It would also work for the magical helper challenge.

A classic! I loved this one as a kid, and I'd probably still love it.

This is one classic I somehow missed as a child! Good to know it fits this category! I might just use it!

Ozsaur | 248 comments Fly with the Arrow - it's a retelling of Bluebeard and definitely has a key, but it ends on a cliffhanger.

Darn cliffhangers. I haven't heard of that one.

I alway get that sinking feeling when I'm reading a book and getting toward the end, and I realize that there aren't enough pages to tie up all the threads. ;-)

Still, it wasn't a bad book. I just like to warn if there's a cliffhanger.

Yeah, that sometimes makes me want to not even finish.

Have you tried The Seventh Bride? That's a Bluebeard retelling that wraps up briskly!

I've read a couple like that too. It's not so bad when the second book is out already, but when there is not it can be frustrating!

Or her "Bluebeard's Wife." It's in Toad Words And Other Stories
