Annette S | 77 comments I selected 5 countries. I had a bit of a challenge finding books for the Comoros and Togo but really enjoyed stretching myself to find books about these countries.

Comoros Dancing With the Dead by Helena Drysdale
Ghana Transcendent Kingdom by Yaa Gyasi
Mali The Bad Ass Librarians of Timbuktu
Côte d’Ivoire Making War in Côte d’Ivoire by Mike McGovern
Togo The Village of Waiting by George Packer

Carolien (carolien_s) | 524 comments Nice selection. Togo is really difficult, I have An African in Greenland in my TBR challenge which covers Togo. I want to read Transcendent Kingdom and the Bad Ass Librarians as well.

Nice list!
For Togo I have Do They Hear You When You Cry on my TBR 2021 list, by Togolese writer Fauziya Kassindja.

Annette S | 77 comments I’ll definitely keep those in mind. I had heard about An African in Greenland but didn’t realize the author was Togolese. I also just missed out on the publication of A Girl Called Eel set in the Comoros which is getting really good reviews. I’ll add them to my to TBR.
