Books for Change discussion

If you're interested in being a mod, please answer the following questions. We are going to have 4 mods for this group.

4. Have you been a mod before/ Are you currently moderating a group?

1. I'm very interested in doing this! I'm very passionate about my beliefs and I love the idea of this group.
2. I could help with challenges, games, and other things to organize/build up the group. I could also help suggest ways for people to bring change in their local community or online. I have a lot of creative ideas that I hope will make this group bigger :)
3. I'm active every day, and I'm on pretty often so you can reach me at anytime and I'll respond. The only time I'm not active at all is when I'm asleep, my time zone is EST.
4. Yes! I'm a moderator of around 20 groups and I have a lot of experience. I'm also currently modding a few groups.

1. Yes, I am very interested in becoming a moderator for this group and I think it would be a great experience!
2. I could plan BOTM, readathons, or other reading challenges. I'm good at planning and organizing stuff, so basically anything with that. I could also help come up with new games and new reading challenges that would be fun.
3. I am very active on GR and I have been since I joined. The only time when I would not be able to be on GR is when I am sleeping.
4. I have sadly not been a mod and am not currently a mod. I joined recently, so I haven't become one yet, but I quickly fell into many groups very easily, and I know how they work. I am a very quick learner though, and then if I was a mod for this group, I would solely be focused on this group. And you have to start somewhere, right?

I need to ask all of you guys one thing- If you're not selected, would it be fine with you? Because I think I only need 3 more mods. Although, if a mod is inactive, we can replace them with others who have signed up. So you may get an opportunity even if you aren't selected right now!

I'm going to wait today for any more sign ups and announce the new mods on January 1st ( tomorrow in my time zone)!

That's completely fine! Like ForevaBookish said, I highly respect your decision and there would be no hard feelings :) And yeah, I understand. Picking mods is pretty hard, I've had to do that a few times and it's always hard because there are so many great options.

2. I would come up with topics and help educate people because i’ve done a lot of research into things like feminism, lgbtq+ rights and the environment.

Hi guys! We have one moderator spot open right now. The moderator selected would have the following main duties apart from helping out with the group generally:
1. Having regular polls.
2. Keeping discussions and games active.
3. Adding new discussion topics to the group.

We would like you to answer the following questions to apply:

1. Can you fulfill the responsibilities mentioned above? How do we know that you can do the job well?

2. For how long have you been a part of the group? How many comments have you made?
This does not mean that a new member can't be chosen. It's just that if you are already an active member, your chances of getting selected would increase.

3. How active are you on Goodreads?

4. Have you moderated groups before? If yes, please mention the names of the groups.

That's it. You just have to answer these 4 questions.
If you are not selected, it's nothing personal as we only need one more moderator. Moderator or not, all members are equally valued!

Application would close on the 20th, and the new moderator would be announced on the 22nd!

I mean, I love polls and I have lots of ideas (like voting on your stance on a topic). I like to keep discussions active if they haven't been commented on in a while. I'm happy to add new discussions and stuff :). I mean, as proof, you can see that I commented on a lot of discussions today and in the past I have replied to quite a few things.

2. For how long have you been a part of the group? How many comments have you made?
I have no idea, I'd say a few months. It was at the start of the group, I think but I have no sense of time. I've made 54 comments at the moment but I keep adding to them and when im in a "discussion mood" like today I post quite a bit.

3. How active are you on Goodreads?
Fairly active, I go on it most days and this is my fav group as well as people of earth so I go on it the most.

4. Have you moderated groups before? If yes, please mention the names of the groups.

Yes, ofc I want to help in any way possible!!

2. What kind of developments would you bring?
I can do any job that you want me to do and I will help with anything. for example, I can do the newsletters or something if another important mod can't do it at the moment

3. How much are you active on Goodreads?
I am available at any time of the day and am active for over 5 hours a day anyway so I don't think that is a problem

4. Have you been a mod before/ Are you currently moderating a group?
Yes, I am a mod in another group and have been a BOTM discussion leader a couple of times before which makes me experienced.

I hope I can help with anything that you guys give me and I am very organized and often do my work as best as I can. :)

Yes! I check Goodreads every day and usually reply to any notifications within 1 to 2 hours. I have a lot of ideas for polls and discussions and I would really like to contribute! I will do any of the other jobs too if it's needed!

I've been in this group for a few weeks about I'm already really liking it!

3. How active are you on Goodreads?
Very active! I'm on Goodreads all the time and if I'm a moderator, I'll make sure to reply to any notifications and add new polls regularly.

4. Have you moderated groups before? If yes, please mention the names of the groups.
I have not, but I really like to moderate for this one! I usually only ask the moderator for groups I really really care about and this one is about a topic that means a lot to me! Books are a great way to spread change and it so great that there's a group just for that!
