Welcome to Black Spring, the seemingly picturesque Hudson Valley town haunted by the Black Rock Witch, a 17th century woman whose eyes and mouth are sewn shut. Muzzled, she walks the streets and enters your homes at will. She stands next to your bed for nights on end. Everybody knows that her eyes may never be opened.

The elders of Black Spring have virtually quarantined the town by using high-tech surveillance to prevent their curse from spreading. Frustrated with being kept in lockdown, the town's teenagers decide to break their strict regulations and go viral with the haunting, but in so doing send the town spiraling into the dark, medieval practices of the past.

I am really enjoying it so far, but it really creeps me out too. I'm reading it in Dutch, so I'm not sure if the names are different and all, but I hope not. (view spoiler)[ I can't believe that Jelmer would actually provoke the witch like that, and then she went and killed Timo's dog! That was so sad, poor thing. And Jelmer's mother creeps me out so much, Gemma is seriously crazy. Offering her a peacock?! Girl, what is up with that? (hide spoiler)]

Seriously, them voting for the guys like that, it was actually insane. Their actions are out of fear, I get that, but they're really going insane at this point! I might fear them even more than the witch.
