YAY! I've already started. If you read 19 pages a day you should be done at the end of the month. At least that is what I'm doing teehee!

Starting tonight! :D Super stoked to finally get to this one. I remember my mom being obsessed with the movie when it came out (except for the ending, you're right lol). But I feel like it was always on at my house.

Good luck Ashley, Jackie and Chelley. And Jackie you can start whenever :D So excited for a new year!

Thanks Josie! I'm trying this year lol, ugh I couldn't function in 2020.

This year I'm trying something new and I'd like to be more active in this group, like with more discussions. What I figured we could do and of course you can let me know what you think, but I thought I'd break the book up into weeks. Each Friday we can discuss what we've read so far and what we are thinking about the book. Now I know we all have different editions but I'll be posting chapter/sections for each week in their own discussion section in the same monthly folder so you can read at your own pace and discuss when you reach a certain part. I hope that makes sense.
The second thing I wanted to tell you guys if you don't watch me on YouTube, is that I've chosen this years books to coincide with Kayla's @booksandlala's Goodreads group/readathon. https://www.goodreads.com/group/show/... That way we can kill two birds with one stone. My monthly picks aren't completely on point with her challenges each month (I've stretched them a bit to "fit" the themes), but I thought it would be fun.
Okay with all of that out of the way, This months pick as you have seen is Dreamcatcher which came out in 2001. I picked up the book around that time while I was still in college and saw the movie in theater when it was released in 2003. *Cool fact-Stephen King wrote the first draft of this book with a fountain pen*
This is essentially an alien book. We follow a group of childhood friends who have come together as adults for one last hurrah because one of them is dying of cancer. They are staying at a cabin in the woods when the aliens touch down and all hell breaks lose. This is also the book when I learned my favorite motto SSDD (Same Shit, Different Day). For the most part the book and the movie are the same, except for the ending.
Dreamcatcher isn't on either Netflix or Amazon Prime for free, but you can rent it on Amazon for $2.99 if you so desire. It stars Jason Lee, Damian Lewis, Donnie Wahlburg and Morgan Freeman.
Hope you are as excited about this year as I am. I'll see you in the discussions and as always...Happy Reading.
