I've just completed Half a Lifelong Romance which was a new author to me. This will stay with me for a long time. It's set in Shanghai in the 1930's and tells the story of the relationship between a young couple. About 60% through the book clobbered me with plot twist. Good to start the year with a 5 star read.
I'm currently reading Kintu which is a sprawling multi-generational story set in Uganda. Really enjoying the structure and pace.

Half a Lifelong Romance sounds fantastic Carolien!
I am currently busy with two reads:
An Offer From a Gentleman which I am loving! This one is very much a retelling of Cinderella, but within the Bridgerton world.
Then I am on and off listening to Dash & Lily's Book of Dares because the Lily character is driving me insane.

I've started Wives and Daughters for the task requiring a book published posthumously in our quarterly Mishmash challenge. It's a bit daunting starting a 500 plus page book and knowing it is incomplete. Enjoying it so far, very much in the style of North and South which I loved

I need to read The Duke and I and now I want to get to this one soon!

So far they only improve. Really excited that I still have 5 books in the series to read and I see there is this: The Further Observations of Lady Whistledown

Welcome back! I love Chanette Paul, what are you reading? I've finally forgiven Deon Meyer for Cobra, his latest is around here somewhere in a pile waiting for my attention.

Finished Dash & Lily's Book of Dares - finally! And finished One by One, which was really good!
Now busy with The Best New True Crime Stories: Serial Killers when James isn't close by to hear. For when he is close, I started The Wren Hunt.
