I hope you're enjoying it so far! Let me know all your thoughts down below.

Read from the start of part three up until the end of part four, which in my copy ends on page 236 on the words "I want some dry clothes".

What are your thoughts on the book now?
What do you think about how the magic system has expanded?
What do you think of Vasya's personal journey?
What's been your favourite and least favourite part so far?

Sara (pagesandprose_) | 10 comments I didn't think it was possible for Vasya to become even more of a badass, but here we are. She's just really come fully into her own skin and I'm here for it. Also, as sad as it is to read, I do appreciate that Arden included Vasya panicking and having flashbacks as she made her way closer and closer to Moscow, because she's not all-powerful and unwavering. With how headstrong and tough she's been leading up to this, it's a good reminder that a) she still is a very young woman who is only just starting to realize the true gravity of everything happening and b) she did experience a lot of trauma.

The country of Midnight was absolutely fascinating, and I stan our little mushroom man. I really really hope that Vasya and Marya will be able to go back to the little cottage with the horses, because our girls deserve a peaceful, happy ending.

I loved Arden's choice for Morozko's prison. I was definitely expecting him to be tortured or trapped in isolation, but having him trapped in a bubble of time where he was once worshipped really gave a whole new perspective to his character.

I think that the way Konstantin's story ended was very fitting, although I'm unsure how I feel about how Medved's capture played out. I think that there was just so much drama around Konstantin and the turmoil in and around him that Medved's capture just didn't hit the same. I will say, though, that Sergei single-handedly taking down the army of the dead was unexpected but in a good way. I think it helped show the validity in the faith in Christianity just like how there's validity in the faith of the cheryti, and how the two should exist in harmony and each have their place.

One final thought: I didn't know how much I wanted Olga to meet Morozko until Vasya offered it. I need it to happen.
