Anne C (fizzyannielizzy) | 1 comments Welcome to Week 2 of the Winter Reading Challenge! This week we're focusing on those books that make or break a series--the first book! Will you continue on the journey after Book 1, or abandon ship?

As always, these titles can be requested for curbside pick up through the online catalog here https://catalog.uhls.org/iii/encore/?... and digital copies can be found on Overdrive, https://uhls.overdrive.com/ and/or Hoopla, https://www.hoopladigital.com/.

Wolf Hall, Hilary Mantel
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Douglas Adams
One for the Money, Janet Evanovich
Children of Blood and Bone, Tomi Adeyemi
A Discovery of Witches, Deborah Harkness
Note: Season Two of the TV adaptation is now available on Sundance/AMC/Shudder! (I [Anne] am very into it.)
Oryx and Crake, Margaret Atwood
16 Lighthouse Road16 Lighthouse Road, Debbie Macomber
Red Mars, Kim Stanley Robinson
Devil in a Blue Dress, Walter Mosley
In the Woods, Tana French
Crazy Rich Asians, Kevin Kwan

What are YOU reading this week?

Kathleen | 71 comments Right now I'm finishing a second "snow on cover" book - Spinning Silver! I devoured half of it last night. Such a great read.

That's on my TBR list! So glad to hear it's a worthwhile read!

Diana | 84 comments Wolf Hall is the still the master class in Mantel's Cromwell series, in my opinion (the two books that follow are also great, of course, but boy, if I could experience Wolf Hall again for the first time...)

Susan D'Entremont (susande) | 286 comments Finally read the first book of March: Book One today to celebrate Martin Luther King Day. It was one of the suggestions for "first in a series" on the APL ReadSquared site. Thanks for the suggestion!
