Holland Vande Krol My Mount TBR is a towering challenge, but I spend way too much time among the virtual peaks. I've set a personal reading challenge for myself which includes many award-winning books that are not on my shelves. So, the virtual TBR is even taller!

1. The Unwomanly Face of War An Oral History of Women in World War II by Svetlana Alexievich

The first book of this virtual climb satisfies my personal challenge of reading 5 Nobel Prize (in Literature) winning authors. I'm so glad that I set this as a challenge and that I picked this book up. It was amazing.

Holland Vande Krol 2. Wires and Nerve (Wires and Nerve, #1) by Marissa Meyer

I enjoy reading graphic novels, but don't own any. Graphic novels will likely make up a lot of this virtual climb.

Holland Vande Krol 3. How to Do Nothing Resisting the Attention Economy by Jenny Odell

This was on the library's recommendation page for 'New Beginnings'. Resisting the Attention economy is one of my current interests and I did enjoy exploring some of the concepts presented, but I didn't love the overall organization of the book.

Holland Vande Krol 4. IRL Finding Realness, Meaning, and Belonging in Our Digital Lives by Chris Stedman

I read an article on NPR about this new book and it came up surprisingly quickly on my library holds. It was a worthy read, with several thought-provoking ideas.

Holland Vande Krol 5. Real Change Mindfulness to Heal Ourselves and the World by Sharon Salzberg

Listening to this on audio was the best option with the guided meditations included.

Holland Vande Krol 6. The Body A Guide for Occupants by Bill Bryson

Nearly forgot this one.

superawesomekt | 51 comments Nice pace! I have been wanting to read The Unwomanly Face of War as well as Bill Bryson's book, but I DNF'ed How to Do Nothing.

Holland Vande Krol 7. Ask Me About My Uterus by Abby Norman (Not sure why the cover link isn't working)

I've recently been fascinated by the topic of feminism and medicine. I've heard way too many stories recently about doctors not listening to women about their symptoms and have even experienced this with ovarian cysts and endometriosis of my own.

That one was a struggle. It would have been a DNF for me if I didn't hit the bioregionalism section when I did. It had just enough to hold my attention (along with being heavily referenced in other books and articles) to encourage me to see it to the end.

Holland Vande Krol 8. Creativity: A Short and Cheerful Guide by John Cleese

This was very short, taking less than an hour to finish. It's a very straight forward review of how to be creative with few extraneous details.

Holland Vande Krol 9. The Complete Maus by Art Spiegelman

This one also counts for my personal reading challenge, which includes two Pulitzer-prize winning books. I love graphic novel memoirs, so this was in my wheelhouse.

Holland Vande Krol 10. Fangs by Sarah Andersen

This was adorable. I absolutely loved it.

Holland Vande Krol 11. Dune the Graphic Novel, Book 1 by Brian Herbert

I might be on a bit of a graphic novel streak. This one is gorgeous.

Holland Vande Krol 12. I Contain Multitudes The Microbes Within Us and a Grander View of Life by Ed Yong
