Holland Vande Krol Last year, I set a lofty goal of Mt. Vancouver and fell short. The Mt. TBR stack grew and grew as I developed a Goodreads Giveaways addiction. I will try again this year, but I will cautiously proceed as I suspect the summits of virtual mountains will continue calling.

1. Ariadne by Jennifer Saint

This is an ARC from one of those Goodreads giveaways in 2020. I love retellings of all myths and this is no exception. It will move to the permanent collection among Edith Hamilton's Mythology and Bullfinch's.

Holland Vande Krol 2. Ida B. the Queen The Extraordinary Life and Legacy of Ida B. Wells by Michelle Duster

This was another ARC from Goodreads giveaways. Unfortunately, as an ARC, it doesn't really feel finished. I might pass this one on to a Little Free Library for others to learn about the extraordinary Ida B. Wells.

Holland Vande Krol 3. The Kindest Lie by Nancy Johnson

And a third ARC from Goodreads giveaways. Family secrets are not normally in my wheelhouse, but I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this one. Definitely sharing it with a friend next.

Holland Vande Krol 4. The Radiant Lives of Animals by Linda Hogan

Another Goodreads giveaway, but this one was not an ARC. I especially loved the chapter on the mountain lions.

Holland Vande Krol 5. Under a White Sky The Nature of the Future by Elizabeth Kolbert

Another ARC from Goodreads Giveaways. It was an interesting read with lots of crazy ideas about how to correct the consequences of controlling nature. This will end up in a Little Free Library as I'm not a fan of holding on to non-fiction ARCs due to the unfinished feel.

Holland Vande Krol 6. Jane in Love by Rachel Givney

Another Goodreads Giveaway. I was not a fan of this. While it was a fun premise, the stereotyped characters were too meh. It did inspire me to consider reading Jane Austen though.

And that's it for Mt. Wycheproof! On to the next mountain!
