Emma | 356 comments 2. The Daughters of Foxcote Manor The Daughters of Foxcote Manor by Eve Chase - Good, but I liked the mysteries in her others more.

3. The Mystery of Mrs. Christie The Mystery of Mrs. Christie by Marie Benedict - Loved! This definitely got me out of my reading slump, unputdownable!

4. The Universe Has Your Back: Transform Fear to Faith The Universe Has Your Back Transform Fear to Faith by Gabrielle Bernstein - Reread but my mindset needed it.

Up Next:
The House on Vesper Sands The House on Vesper Sands by Paraic O'Donnell and The Lantern Men The Lantern Men (Ruth Galloway, #12) by Elly Griffiths

So glad to feel like I'm over the dry spell that hit after Thanksgiving. Many highly anticipated reads on my list that give me hope the good streak will continue!

I see a theme to a few of your books in this update. Should we say congratulations? (Or you can just ignore this or tell me to mind my own business, and I'll go away :D )

Emma | 356 comments 14. May Cause Miracles: A 40-Day Guidebook of Subtle Shifts for Radical Change and Unlimited Happiness May Cause Miracles A 40-Day Guidebook of Subtle Shifts for Radical Change and Unlimited Happiness by Gabrielle Bernstein

15. Live and Let Chai Live and Let Chai (Seaside Café Mystery, #1) by Bree Baker A really solid cozy mystery where the dialogue felt authentic and the characters are endearing and likeable. Light on the mystery but definitely getting the next in the series soon.

Sadly, I abandoned The House in the Cerulean Sea The House in the Cerulean Sea by T.J. Klune after 2 weeks. It was a nice read but just wasn't what I was in the mood for, I guess, and I wanted to move on. May come back to it later.

24. The Lost City of the Monkey God The Lost City of the Monkey God by Douglas Preston I think my best read of the year! A departure from my usual reads but so glad I picked it up at the recommendation of Modern Mrs. Darcy. It's opened a whole subgenre of nonfiction that I'm loving!

25. The Lost City of Z: A Tale of Deadly Obsession in the Amazon The Lost City of Z A Tale of Deadly Obsession in the Amazon by David Grann - Don't know why it took me so long to read this - so good!

Haha. It did - thank you!! We have a healthy little boy who is the apple of his sisters' eyes. It's chaotic but still making time for reading. :D

The Madness of Crowds The Madness of Crowds (Chief Inspector Armand Gamache, #17) by Louise Penny I've been in and out of this one for the past 2 weeks, which is so unusual for me and Louise Penny. I'm thinking it has something to do with the subject matter (post pandemic, etc), so I may come back to it another time.
Picking up either Eat, Pray, Love: One Woman's Search for Everything Across Italy, India and Indonesia Eat, Pray, Love One Woman's Search for Everything Across Italy, India and Indonesia by Elizabeth Gilbert or This is Your Mind on Plants This is Your Mind on Plants by Michael Pollan , but hoping for a good, immersive fiction read soon!

The important thing is that you had some books you enjoyed! Good luck on those last one or two to finish out the year :) Hopefully they'll be another one or two good ones!

Made it through a few more and currently reading The Lincoln Highway The Lincoln Highway by Amor Towles , but I don't think I'll finish by Friday. Read some of my favorite books earlier this year and happy to have still gotten pretty close despite having my busiest work year and welcoming our 3rd in July. I have high hopes for some great reads in 2022!
