Cris McGough | 6 comments I was pretty sure I was not going to like this book. It's really not in my wheelhouse. I really liked the characters. I also like that we got to "see the ending". Really ended up liking it. 4 of 5.

Kristin Quintanilla | 7 comments I hadn't planned on reading this book But my library had it, it was in, so based on the above review I checked it out. And, I liked it. It tells an important story is such a way that is both heart-wrenching and up-lifting. I think young teens will like the flow and characters. I liked the wrap up at the end, as well. 4 of 5.

Brandy Otto | 9 comments I really enjoyed this graphic novel. I think that a good majority of my students would like this book. I love a graphic novel that has a significant story line! I give it 4/5.

Christy | 8 comments Not my typical type of book, but the story being told is very important. There is so much about the rest of the world that we don't think about. After finishing I even had to look into more of the history. 4/5

Tamara (tamarasan) | 10 comments This is a heartwarming and heartbreaking book--all tied into the same pages, sometimes even the same panel. This is an amazing read to create sympathy and empathy for your fellow human being. There were certain points that made a little lump form in my throat because of how unfair the world is to people who don't deserve it.

I definitely was reading books like this at that age, but not in GN form, which I feel like is even more potent in creating empathy. 5/5
