All of us, have one thing in common- we are readers!! But, do you know there's a reading type for each one of us? While some like to complete a whole book in one sitting, others like to savor it slow and steady, some look for a Series and others prefer standalone, while some like to discuss about the books, some of us don't. Ofc, this doesn't mean you are specific to a category, some of us morph into one category for sometime and next, we become completely another.
But would you like to find out what kind of a Reader are You? Which Book Species are You?

Below is a link to the image in which there's a classification of Readers:-
https://www.laura-e-kelly.com/wp-cont...

Define yourself as a Reader in the following format:-(you can copy the format below if you wish)

Domain Class Family Genus Species
Readers

So tell us, what kind of a book species are you!?

Fabitha (fabitha89) | 575 comments OMG this is amazing! I never knew this existed. Where on Earth did you find this pearl?

I'm probably a Reader-Book Lover-Free Range-"It's complicated" Reader.
I'm a omnivore who hoard, collect, abuse, love, re-read, one-sit, all genres, hardcover, paperback, ebook, new, used it all. As long as it's interesting, depending on my mood, historic moment, personal moment, I read basically anything. I dread moving houses because I'll have like 5 box of clothes and 25 ginormous boxes of books (and they grow every time because meanwhile I'd buy more, obviously. It's just a matter of having enough bookshelves, really. Don't let them tell you otherwise.)

Well...I just did find this amazing thing on the internet and my mind said "Let's see what type of species others are..." And so I posted it!

I really like the book species you are... interesting omnivore! And don't you think, empty spaces in bookshelves yell "fill me, occupy me"...lol

Fabitha (fabitha89) | 575 comments Sadly, I don't remember a moment in my life when I had the luxury of free space on my bookshelves XD my shelves are an absolute mess, I try to keep a semblance of order but books just keep piling. Second rows and Rubik, crooked joints are my trademark. But I try to keep the books not too crammed and never, ever folded in strange angles (for paperbacks) and to separate them roughly by genre.
My Kobo is a mess too. I tried to separate my ebooks in different collections but the process is painstakingly slow and I ended up losing patience. Maybe I should try to do it one bit at a time XD

Hahah! Well, that's a great order you are trying to keep in bookshelf and ebooks...I wish you success!!
P.s. I'll kill anyone who folds/bends/tears my book... that's how I like to keep my books: perfect and unblemished.. lol

Fabitha (fabitha89) | 575 comments Thank you!
I have some damaged books, mostly from reading them over and over again and age despite always treating them right...my italian copy of the 1st HP is basically coming apart (I mean, we are talking 1997 here). But I don't mind. It was well loved. And I have a lot of books even older than that so a little wear is to be expected ;)

??? I find the chart a little confusing.
Anyway I fit as many books in the bookshelf as possible. The front rows that are visible are reserved for the books I love to reread a lot aka my favourites. They are not alphabetized or split into genre they are arranged in how I can fit them in. :) Bending pages is evil they have pretty bookmarks for that. I don't like dnfing books but I squirrel all the time. I tell myself I'll go back and finish them but that may take years. I usually have one paper book on the go and one ebook. Don't hate me but I do write in cookbooks, that's how I keep track of what I make and what does and does not work.

Olivia (catqueen555) | 50 comments I’m a very sporadic reader like I will binge three books in one day and then not read for a month. It’s all or nothing for me I can’t stand reading less than 100 pages in a sitting. I’m also the person who will look at their bookshelf with well over one hundred books and say that I have nothing to read.

I will do that too when looking at my book collection.

Audrey (stuckonchapter13) | 32 comments I'm for sure the omnireader. If something has words on it I will be reading it. My siblings hate going to the museum with me because I stop and read the description panel for every single artifact. I guess I'm also a chronological reader, I like to read by the publishing dates.

Ok so I'll explain: basically you proceed step by step..domain is readers then we have 2 options in Class: Book lovers and Other Readers.
In Family: Book lovers has 3 options Compulsive, Situational, Free range
Other Readers has 3 options: Prestige, Conflicted, Haters
Then in Genus: Compulsive has 2 options again : Book Cherisher, Book abuser
And in Situational : Social
For species we have many options in each category whivh are given in charts below.
So to define yourself, you proceed step wise and categorise yourself.
I hope now it's clear.

In Genus you select from options given in chart but first you define Family after class.

Hey! So for species, you select from the first chart: Book as love objects - Cherished, since you selected Book Cherisher in Genus.

Darby this was fun!!
Domain: Readers
Class: Book Lovers
Family/Genus: Free Range
Species: HYBRID the eclectic reader/the "it's complicated" reader

eclectic reader because I'll truly read anything, I don't have a favorite genre, rather, I read to see character development process. So you'll see me reading plays from the 1920's that were unsuccessful but should have been, and books by little-known authors a lot.
