Hey! Sure, I will be happy to read and share my thoughts.

It's your wish, whatever you feel like doing. You can post here also or you can PM me but if you post here, maybe others can also share their thoughts.

I would love read your work if that is still available...or do you only need 1 person?

I wrote this after a dear friend of mine got blamed for something that she wasn't responsible for causing. So please forgive me if this piece is raw and full of anger, at this point of time I am neither capable or tact or elucidation.
1) I feel that for the current misery of the victims, the society is much to blame. The fact that so and so was made to feel helpless and taken advantage of should be of nobody’s favorite tea-time topic. However, what the reality tends out to be is, that people start passing judgments on the victim. Why do you people not forget it as an unfortunate incident, or at least not talk about it.
2) We tend to forget the fact that that particular female had the courage to face the world and demand justice. She could as well have sat home for a couple of days till the bruises heal up and forgotten the whole incident as a nightmare. This is what that bastard would have loved. Don’t let this be lost in the unending list of forgotten crusaders.
3) Being raped does mean that the female is no longer a virgin, but it does not make her any impure. Instead of lending a helping hand and support, we kick her out of her life like scum. This to me looks like a case of punishment to the victim.
4) Giving death penalty actually makes the matters worse. It gives the accused access to endless appeals, hearings and re-hearings. With enough money and good lawyers, he could have the case dragged endlessly and might even drive her to bankruptcy.
5) Did I encourage my Uncle/brother/cousin to rape me by bringing him a glass of water which he asked for?
Last, but not the least, what I find most interesting is it that we might not have access to facts, but we always have opinions. (Well I am counting myself too).
More than two-third of the minor rapes is done by the people whom the victim knows. Many times it was the friendly uncle or the cousin (or even brother) whom your parents repeatedly encouraged you to spend time with. He played with you and robbed you of your innocence. You were made to experience things before you could pronounce what they were.
How is this fair? To lose control of your body and soul to someone you implicitly trusted.
All I can say to the victims in the end is just this: Remember forgiveness is not for the other person it's for yourself.
Remember they don't control your life anymore
Remember that you are strong.

This is so very accurate and it's correctly expressed. I think writings such as this should be featured so more people can become aware of minor things we tend to skip on. It's seldom that we are blaming victims unintentionally also, without realising we are doing so.
I won't say I feel sorry for your dear friend who went through this horrible experience but I would say that I feel proud of her that she came out as a fighter, and I also encourage her to forgive each soul who talks behind her back, because I believe people who do so are themselves damaged and just need an interesting topic to chat over at tea time and parties but they don't realise that they are talking of an actual person whose reputation and life depends on what is said about them.
A very great piece of writing according to me, irrespective of minor errors which are irrelevant here.
Thanks for sharing it with all of us! I am sure everyone who reads it will at least contemplate what society we are living in.

This is super eye-opening. I've heard of it before, but never really touched on nor truly understood the topic. It's just so....heartbreaking. And what you wrote brings it into context. Amazing job.
