Action/Adventure Aficionados discussion

So which books were your standout favorites in 2020, and tell us why. They don't have to be A/A, but definitely call them out if they are. We're always looking for recommendations.

My favorites of last year were:

Against the Loveless World by Susan Abulhawa
Mexican Gothic by Silvia Moreno-Garcia
The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V.E. Schwab

I have few I can put up in here:

by John Everson - kind of a mix of crime and horror.

by Jonathan Janz - apocalyptic theme but it has some horror mixed with dark urban fantasy as well.

by Graeme Rodaughan - the omnibus released last year that includes the books 1-3 - even though I have read the individual books before the omnibus I did add this collection to my top reads of the year since it released last year as I did do a reread of them with the omnibus. :-)

by William Massa - discovered series and discovered author - action packed with guns/swords/martial arts moves.

by Andy Peloquin - I read the first book and need to get back to reading the rest of the series as there are quite a few to pursue. Action packed with guns and fighting skills. :)

2020 was a slow year for me and books...my reading habits have always gone in cycles and I didn't read near as much this year as I normally do. That being said, I definitely had a stand-out author this year Nicholas Sansbury Smith Finished out his Hell Divers series this year with books 6 and 7, as well as his Orbs series. Both good series, but Hell Divers definitely gets my top reviews. Post Apocalyptic/Science Fiction seems to be my go to genre these days!
