Sharing Thoughts about Books with Others (STBO) discussion

Hello everyone. I hope everyone is safe with the current pandemic even though there is a vaccine out but not yet available to the general public worldwide.

Please advise by posting your comments below.

Would you like a different genre for monthly book discussions every month? For example... February will be Fantasy genre. March will be Contemporary fiction genre. March will be biography/autobiography/memoir genre. April will be Historical fiction genre and etc. etc. and so on and so on.

Or

Would you prefer it doesn't matter what genre the book discussions would be every month, and everyone can suggest any genre.

Now onto the number of books. How many official group monthly book discussions would you want each month? One book, two books, or three books each month?

A suggestion topic will be posted for the members to post three book suggestions. Then a poll will be created for the members to vote. The winning book will be the group's monthly book discussion for that month. Then the 2nd place and third place will be the other optional book discussions for that month... depending if the members choose pone or two or three or what other number of books they want for each month.

I think the first approach, the different genre for monthly book discussions is very good considering the many members the group has. I think it's easier to manage.

About the number of books, I think the approach you are presenting about the 3 book suggestions, selecting a winning book for the month is excellent.

I'm new to this. How would these book discussions work? The assigned book has to be read during that month? Is there a specific date for discussions?

Yes alternating the genre monthly feels like a good idea to reduce the 'risk' of one genre dominating. At the moment, one book a month feels about right, for my circumstances, though this does depend on how big/complex/challenging, the book is.
