When Jonah and Abbie move to a new house in Smithville, Abbie couldn’t be more disappointed, she hates being the new girl at her new school, She doesn’t like it when people in Smithville call pop soda and that the kids don’t even play tag the right way. When Jonah wakes Abbie in her sleep and tells her that he sees purple down in the basement, she says she wants nothing to do with the basement, but before she can finish telling Jonah why going to into the basement at night isn’t a good idea, Jonah runs into the basement and Abbie tries to stop him. Abbie reaches the basement to find Jonah knocking on the mirror and when he knocks the third time, Abbie, Jonah, and everything else in their basement (which is a lot of law books and computer things) get sucked into the mirror. Jonah and Abbie wake up to find that they are in the fairy tale of Snow White, but when they stop Snow White’s stepmom from poisoning Snow with the apple, they realize that they changed the story and Snow will never be able to marry the prince and live happily ever after. Will they be able to fix the story or will Snow White have to live with the dwarfs forever?
I liked this book because it gives a twist to a classic fairy tale and it gives the characters some more personally and shows a different side of characters that we didn’t even give second thoughts too. I would rate this book 3 out of 5 stars, just because from my personal opinion I don’t like Snow White’s story that much.
